If its good enough for Prince, its good enough for me. VERY groovy machine with a kick-ass snare. The best thing about it is the fact that when you’re recording the parts into it, you can change the amount of swing on the fly for each instrument. So you might record some hi-hats a little bit swung, but just push a few harder towards the end of a bar or whatever. It ends up giving a really organic groove.

This one came from eBay, and unfortunately like so many instruments finding their way to new owners that way, was suffering from multiple problems. Once again, Pete Hampson to the rescue – he spent a few nights cleaning up the pads, getting everything going a little better, and while it still has its quirks, it sounds awesome and has played a big part in this album.
