We’ve been cracking on with the lyrics for Jumping Ship – the last but one track we’re finishing lyrically. Its got a nice feel… should be pretty vibey, and fast. It was the first groove I programmed into the Oberheim DMX drum machine when I got it. Pete Hampson deleted it by mistake when doing some work on it (wish I’d clicked that memory protect switch over) but I have painstakingly rebuilt the groove from an old demo when I got my son to hold the ZOOM near a little speaker playing the groove as I jammed on the acoustic.

I am also cracking on nicely with the iOS app. Well, I say that, but dealing with openGL blend modes is the stuff of nightmares (for me anyway)… but by a process of error and error, with the occasional trial, I am having some fun and getting some good results. Can’t wait to unleash it – I think its a cool idea for artists to really enhance their albums.

I finally have my Macbook Pro back, following a mad debacle at the Apple Store, so should get a good bit more recording done this week. I must say the guys at The Glades are so much nicer than the team at Regent Street. Kudos to Enrique, who really worked his ass off yesterday to sort my machine out following some unexpected complications. I could rant relentlessly about the arbitrary nature of Apple customer service, but I shan’t do it here.
