Bit of radio silence on the blog front… I’ve been a bit preoccupied getting our Christmas app for kids, Magic Jar ready. That’s not to say there isn’t a whole lot of activity going on here in the crow’s nest.
I’ve come up with something that we can use to create a community around the record. I can’t give too many details away, except to say that if you will be able to claim a tiny slice of “real estate” within the record by donating something to charity. I’ve built some stuff that hooks straight up to JustGiving and their tech guys have been very supportive in helping to get us up and running, so thanks to Jamie Parkins in particular.
The iOS app for the album is moving along nicely too. The concepts have been thrashed out and I’m over the moon to report that the astounding graphic designer Matt Rudd of Rudd Studio has been involved. His most notable work has been the 2005 and 2010 rebrands of Channel 4. He is involved with the graphic concepts and production side of the iOS app, and its just amazing to have such a brilliant designer on board. He’s been pretty busy rebranding ITV, so we’re working in fits and starts, but what we’ve got so far is looking rather lovely on my iPad.
I sent the lyrics in their entirety over to Leo Abrahams – other than Maurice and myself only two people have seen them. I was delighted to get this response:
my god, it’s exquisite!
So that was rather lovely. Anyway… I’ll try and stay on top of the blog a bit more that Magic Jar is done and dusted for the time being.
