My grandfather’s 90th birthday!
Once the kids were in bed, I drove over to Maurice’s house in Newtownards to the sounds of Radio 4. I do like driving at night with Radio 4 on – not something I get to do much with a family obsessed with Radio 1 and Magic FM. Maurice’s kitchen is a delightful, warm, homely room – I immediately nestled into a comfy chair in front of the wood-burning stove as he and his partner (we shall call her J) finished their dinner.
Then we had a good chance to go through everything face-to-face, which was great. We’ve started another song called Jumping Ship, which could be very good indeed.
